Over five generations, we have farmed this land in a variety of ways. At one point, we operated a dairy and transported milk to Columbus. At other times, we have planted large swaths of the farm in corn or other crops. Almost all of us have kept ‘day jobs’ in town to support our farming habit, but we know where we are going when it is time to head home. Occasionally, we will tackle something that sounds fun, like raising watermelons. Today, we run beef cows, grow hay, and board horses. Ten years from now, who knows? The one thing that is always constant here is our love for the land and the family. There’s no separating us from this dirt. Some people say home is where the heart is. That’s true, but in our case, the heart is always in Crawford.
